Time for an indestructible, upgradable, ThinkPad-level Linux gaming handheld!
LOL yeah right, I know, but let a guy dream. You’re already picturing the bright red thumbstick, right? Lol
The year of the Linux
desktopgaming handholdis upon us.When did the deck drop? It was the only serious contender until last year, year before maybe?
Year of the gaming handheld has been upon us for a few years now.
yep steam os on other platforms. Hopefully.
Yes! More devices running steam OS is a good thing.
It’s happening!
Oooo… Will this mean my current legion go would have full steamos support? Not many issues with bazzite, but wouldn’t mind trying steamos to see if it gives me a little more freedom to customizations.
Bazzite is a little picky on personal software installs, configurations, or manual builds (not impossible to get around, but slightly annoying when their package store is missing something I want)
SteamOS is more locked down, the root is read only and there’s no layering system so every update completely undoes any changes you might have forced on the root partitions by disabling read only mode.
Ahhh dang didn’t know this, thank you for sharing! I never touched steamos so was definitely curious.
Lenovo put Ubuntu and then Fedora NOW ITS STEAMOS
With reps from steam and Microsoft there maybe they’ll announce game pass on steam and steam os
Hmmm…
That would tempt me, if they convince me that GamePass will come with a solid selection of SteamDeck verified games.
I wouldn’t use it personally but would be nice for other people
Yeah. I buy so few AAA games, I figure I would get my money’s worth. But only if they ran on SteamDeck. I don’t find time to sit at my PC and play, during this phase of life.
Very cool. Real competition for ASUS not that MSI crap.
Implying that all the other guests aren’t special, kinda rude
Ngl this is actually kinda cool to see. Steam OS is legitimately taking off. This could become A Thing in the game hardware industry. As in: a new primary target platform.
