Toss my tool bag into my truck and drive to the customer’s house I guess unless told to do something else by the authorities.

Wait a couple hours for the parliament to go WTF and have every member regardless of party vote to rescind the martial law order.

But Americans have guns so it could never happen there - right? That’s the reason having hundreds of school shootings is worth it? /s

        Na. In Europe.

More likely what would happen here is someone will challenge the order in the courts and request a stay of order until the judge rules on weather the order is legal or not.

That is what happened during COVID when we had curfews.

. The military said they will only withdraw if Yoon orders it to end. They’re ignoring parliament. Hell they blocked them from going in to vote

If Yoon stays silent for several hours after this and does not end the order, he will be going rogue as a dictator and will be continuing Martial Law in an unconstitutional and illegal status. South Korea will fall to a military dictatorship and I expect elections along with all courts to be suspended indefinitely.

This was a planned coordinated effort by military figureheads and Yoon.

To go further, if this coup is successful , it would not surprise me if in a few days, all 190 who got in to vote to end the order are either jailed or executed for “anti-state” activities.

Edit: Yoon lifted the order. Better luck next time (it’s coming again). Next time he’ll have them shoot anyone trespassing into parliament.

Apparently the defense minister was made aware ,(they had tanks ready) but did not go through a cabinet approval (which is constitutional law)

There needs to be explaining for this along with a potential military tribunal

Depends on the reason. If’s a clear and justifiable one then I’ll try and help, otherwise I’ll do what the authorities are requesting.

If it’s NOT a clear or justifiable reason then I may have to give my old friend Thomas Jefferson a call.

Not really. The military is controlled by the federal government. The state governments exist only to decide “small” local matters. And don’t have their own armed forces.

I honestly fear that our military will do something like this. There are a LOT of chuds in the military.

Although originally state entities, the Constitutional “Militia of the Several States” were not entirely independent because they could be federalized. According to Article I, Section 8; Clause 15, the United States Congress is given the power to pass laws for “calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions.” Congress is also empowered to come up with the guidelines “for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress” (clause 16). The President of the United States is the commander-in-chief of the state militias “when called into the actual Service of the United States.” (Article II, Section 2).

The traditional state militias were redefined and recreated as the “organized militia”—the National Guard, via the Militia Act of 1903. They were now subject to an increasing amount of federal control, including having arms and accoutrements supplied by the central government, federal funding, and numerous closer ties to the Regular Army.

The state’s national guard would only listen to the president if they view hin as legitimate. If the presidebt start saying: “I’m declaring martial law and ordering the arrest of these lawless democrat thugs to restore law an order” the state national guard would probably go “wait wtf?”, then the Democratic Governor will declare those orders unconstitutional then tell the national guard to refuse federalization and listen to the state. Then the real test is to see who they listen to. That could decide the fate of the country.

Your fear is overblown. The US Military would get chewed up and spit out by Armed American Civilians. We outnumber them by at least 50 to 1 and there would be nowhere for them to retreat too in between engagements. Their logistics would be entirely cutoff and they wouldn’t even be able to go home because their neighbors (at least some of them) would be waiting.

They could try but realistically it would be over (in most places) in like two weeks.

What is Bubba going to do with his Ford and his AR when a fuckin’ tank rolls down the middle of 23rd Avenue? How about when a drone hits his buddy with three fingers and all the pipe bombs?

Unless your local rednecks are packing some serious fucking heat- talking anti-tank, anti-air- you will 100% get Ruby Ridged. Maybe you take out a couple 19 year old kids? But to think that “armed American civilians” would be able to do anything besides piss themselves and bleed in the face of the most powerful military in the world is utterly delusional.

Get out my nunchucks, take to the streets, and fight the system. Probably put “Calm like a bomb” by Rage on in my headphones.
