Frisky Dingo
Cat party is still my favourite ringtone.
Do you have bluetooth?
Cat party? It’s all about Dog Party now.
Killface 2028!
A scion tc
Master cylinder!
Venture Bros is probably the best I’ve seen, but I also enjoyed
- Primal
- The Tick
- Amazing Screw-On Head (only the pilot ever got made, but if you like it check out Creature Commandos)
- Megas XLR
Also if you have kids and want to watch stuff with them that isn’t brain rot, try Samurai Jack, Clone Wars (Tartakovsky’s original), and Reboot.
Megas: XLR
Gundam for boyz
I still rewatch episodes of Monkey Dust. If you like pitch black British humor, it’s for you.
God I love Monkey Dust. Can’t believe it ended 20 years ago now.
“I never done it, I only said I done it so they’d take me bellend oot’a the Magimix.”
I use the Russian roulette party game as a gauge to see how people will react to the show. If they find it funny, they’re likely to enjoy the rest. If they don’t, then they’ll REALLY hate where some of the other scenes go.
Ugly Americans.
Xavier: Renegade Angel, dunno if it counts because it’s computer animation but some good TV-MA psychedelic social satire
Vernon Chatman before South Park was great! Not that he wasn’t great for SP.
Another that doesn’t meet the qualification is Wonder Showzen. So great!
The Heart She Holler was pretty good too
pulls out a list of Adult Swim cartoons
slaps them on the table
I also went to college in the '00s.
I don’t see Aeon Flux mentioned yet. The Maxx is very good too. Duckman I remember being hilarious, but I dunno if starring Jason Alexander counts as a deep cut.
I’ll 1 up you and go with Liquid Television, where Aeon Flux started-- like Tracy Ulman & the Simpsons.
Duckman was pretty mainstream when it aired, but it’s been largely forgotten. Ahead of its time, humor-wise.
Okay I haven’t heard of a lot here.
I don’t know if it’s the most obscure or deep cut but my favorite vote goes to Moral Orel. It gets dark in a way that doesn’t look like it.
Billy and Mandy and Duck Dodgers imo don’t belong to this list
Surprised you didn’t add the MTV one such as AEon Flux, The Head, The Maxx. Aeon in particular is a favorite of mine, watching it is very wtf. I think it should belong to this list.
1st and second season: haha, oh orel
3rd :
The Brothers Grunt
Patience grashppper
Drawn Together was hilarious. It ended because sponsors were too uncomfortable advertising alongside it. It could never get made today.
Did you ever see the movie? It’s basically the creators bitching because they were shunned for the content while South Park was lauded because it came with a heavy-handed moral.
I had no idea. I’m gonna watch that tonight. Thanks!
I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned The Critic yet. It was a good show that was screwed over by two networks. Another one is Dilbert, which was based on the comic strip. I think Scott Adams was less involved with it than the strip which made it better (plus he wasn’t as insane back then).
It stinks!
Buy my book!
Danger Mouse, international spy and crime fighting white rodent with an eye patch. Old British cartoon from the early 80’s.
Superjail. Imagine if Willy Wonka ran a prison instead of a chocolate factory.
The animation freaked me out but Dr Seuss illustrations also freaks me out
Oh, I remember that one! I think I still have it…
Code Monkeys
Mission Hill
I remember loving this show as a kid! I still laugh when I think about “douchebag” written in cursive.
You may be happy to know there is an archive of all the episodes :)
